We met the modern way - on Hinge - and instantly hit it off. What started as a few casual messages turned into nonstop texting for over a month. From deep conversations to silly TikTok's and late-night confessions, we built a strong connection before we even met in person.

Our first date was ... unforgettable. The pub was lively and Sam (trying to stay calm) accidentally pulled an emergency cord, triggering a multi-employee "rescue" operation. It was chaotic, hilarious, and somehow the perfect ice breaker.

Our second date came with its own emotional twist - someone close to Sam was heading into major surgery the next day. At the beginning of dinner, Sam had to step away for a phone call and when left to her own devices, Rachel managed to hurt herself (leaving her with a limp for the rest of the night). Undeterred and eager to ease the nerves, Rachel shared a series of poorly timed (but strangely comforting) stories about botched surgeries. It was dark, a little weird, and exactly what was needed in the moment.

Somehow, through all the unpredictability, we kept showing up for each other - with humor, patience, and a whole lot of heart. From a string of chaotic firsts came the calmest kind of love: the kind that feels like home.
